Welcome!

A little something about what this thing is and why I'm doing it...

Whether it's right or wrong we know our society values women based on their beauty. The more attractive you are (by conventional standards) the more likely you are to be hired or dated. Women are particularly devalued for not being thin... or thin enough.

Heavy set women are rarely seen in ads, movies or other media as happy, fulfilled, sexual individuals. If they are portrayed at all it is typically as lazy, unattractive, slovenly objects set in place to serve as fodder for jokes or ridicule.

In every corner of the United States, fat children and adults are subject to ridicule and humiliation. The word "pretty" never applies to them, they are "pigs" "cows" or "hippos," and regardless of their eating behavior, they are viewed as "out of control" compulsive eaters. When it’s time to choose teammates for a game, dates for a dance, or even just friends, heavy women are invisible.

I am an Invisible Woman.

I am not ugly or lazy. I don't always eat the healthiest of meals, but I don't compulsively over indulge either.

I've decided to track here my daily eating and exercising habits. Perhaps include medical updates after regular check ups. What else, I don't know, we'll see.
