Saturday the 15th, the pup had a trip to the vet. I wrote a couple journal pages and received some very sad news. The passing of a mentor and great man. That took the wind out of my sails for much of the day. Around 10 p.m. I forced myself to get busy. Did a significant rewrite on KMP, had Sis proofread it and off it went. Yay! To progress!!!
Brunched on KFC. Three strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, potato wedges and corn. Not enough starch for you? Later snacked on two buttermilk biscuits and 3 wedding cookies. Dinner? If you wanna call it that, consisted of black olives and 6 Omaha style pigs in a blanket. The pastry shell was so light and fluffy. Sickeningly addictive, I tell you.
Sunday the 16th, I did quite a bit of journal writing in the family room. Six, seven pages, which is more than I usually do in one sitting. Felt good. Wish it were script pages, but I was thinking about a play idea during part of it, so it's all good. Found the Burke tape I'd been wanting to find. So happy about that, but the player/recorder was making an awful thumping noise. It's gonna really suck if that part of the machine doesn't work any more.
Heated up the leftover corn and super large breast piece (KFC) for lunch. Followed this up with 6 more Omaha pigs in a blanket. Kinda bummed that's the last of them (though maybe it's not such a bad thing.) It was Sis' night to choose dinner. We'd had a lot of back and forth on this. No macaroni in the house altered the decision. She ended up fixing steak and egg noodles. So tasty. And she baked a batch of oatmeal cookies. That was an extra nice touch. Though all of this does leave me to ponder, where is the green in my life? My idea was Cobb salads. I think I'm seriously missing vegetables. Go figure.
